Many conferences today are addressing the transformation of healthcare; however, few are focusing on how the workforce must change in parallel. Attend Ivy Tech’s statewide Health Care Summit entitled “Transforming Healthcare with a World Class 21st Century Workforce” and hear from industry leaders about the challenges and opportunities of balancing the delivery of high quality care and running a successful business. The Summit will focus on how to reduce costs and improve quality with a staff willing to embrace change and evolve with the industry. Presenters and panelists will analyze the skills of healthcare leaders who must facilitate a culture of collaboration, team-based care, and continuous improvement.
Keynote Speaker, David O. Meltzer, M.D., Ph.D., from the University of Chicago kicks off the event. Dr. Meltzer was a Contributor to the IOM Report: Best Care at Lower Cost: The Path to Continuously Learning Health Care in America and will be discussing report findings and the evolving healthcare workforce. Dr. Meltzer will be followed by panels of healthcare leaders discussing inherent challenges in managing transformation and the bottom line.
Lunch is provided and there will be a nominal charge of $49/person to cover expenses. Maximize this opportunity by sending a wide cross section of staff members benefiting from the broad scope of afternoon break-out topics, including: maximization of clinician’s time; what may not have been taught in nursing school; new nurse support roles; accountable care; Patient-Centered Medical Home; increasing IT and data-savvy employees; patient engagement; Lean and Six Sigma; leadership transitions and inter-disciplinary environments; ICD-10 and the cash flow impact; and health information exchange.
The Summit will be held March 14, 2013 at Ivy Tech’s Corporate College and Culinary Center, located at 2820 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, from 8:30a. to 4:30 p.m. Additional details and registration information will be released soon!
