INDIANAPOLIS (January 26, 2010) – The Indiana Health Industry Forum (IHIF) is pleased to announce changes to two key leadership positions. The IHIF Board of Directors has appointed Kristin Jones as the new president and CEO of the not-for-profit, health and life science industry organization and elected Dr. Joerg Schreiber as the Chairman of the Board.
Jones has served as the vice president of the organization since March of 2007. “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead such a dynamic institution as the Indiana Health Industry Forum, an organization I have been involved with since its inception in 1994”, said Jones. “I look forward to working with our members and volunteers to provide the networking, advocacy, strategy and workforce programs that will help grow the health and life science sector here in Indiana”.
Jones previously served as Director for Business Development, Life Sciences and International Affairs, for The Indy Partnership, a regional economic development organization serving an 11 county region in central Indiana. She was responsible for marketing the region to life science companies and worked closely with the central Indiana BioCrossroads initiative. Additionally, Kristin spent almost ten years with the Indiana Department of Commerce ultimately serving as the director of the Office of International Trade, overseeing the state’s export assistance programs and network of 14 foreign offices.
A native of London, Ontario, Canada, she received her B.A. in French from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and holds a Master of Public Affairs degree, also from Indiana University.
Dr. Schreiber has served as the Vice-Chair of the Indiana Health Industry Forum since March of 2009. “In times of change, for example, through Health Care Reform, IHIF is needed more than ever to voice the concerns of its members and inform them about the impacts of these developments”, stated Dr. Schreiber. “Yet, in times of scarce resources, we might have to achieve our mission with less than in years past. This is a challenge which I hope to address and resolve”.
Dr. Schreiber is the president of White Arrow Consulting, LLC and is retired from Roche Diagnostics. Dr. Schreiber joined Roche (previously Boehringer Mannheim Germany) in 1986 and moved to the U.S. in 1994. He held several positions in Research & Development and Operations, before assuming responsibility for the U.S. business unit R&D in 1996. In 2001, Dr. Schreiber accepted the position of Vice President R&D and Business Development for a newly created Roche entity, MyDoc.com, an internet-based medical practice. Prior to his retirement, Dr. Schreiber worked to commercialize under-utilized Roche technology, to create value for the company and to benefit the Central Indiana Region.
Following his retirement from Roche, Dr. Schreiber began work as a business development consultant in the life sciences and has joined the boards of Quadraspec, Inc. and AION Diagnostics, which he chairs. From 2005 to 2007 he worked with Quadraspec, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer. Currently, he is CEO of both Physical Logic AG and Access Health Wealth. He is the founder of White Arrow Consulting LLC (www.whitearrowconsulting.com).
Dr. Schreiber was a board member of the Center for Enterprise Leadership at the Boston University and the Connectivity Industry Consortium and holds several other board positions in professional, civic, and art organizations, where he continues to work in an interdisciplinary context.
